Jordan shares how he bought into an $8,000 program that guaranteed $36,000 in clients—and got nothing in return. Sound familiar? Many of us have been there, chasing the next shiny object, hoping for that elusive shortcut.

The Real Timeline

The truth? Building a coaching business takes time:

  • Jordan's first six months: Only 2-3 clients, making just $2,000/month
  • His breakthrough came after 16-18 months of consistent effort
  • Now he attracts 4-5 new clients monthly with significantly less effort

What Actually Works (That Nobody's Talking About)

While most "experts" focus on content creation, Jordan discovered a crucial insight: "Content doesn't sell clients. Conversations sell clients."

His strategy shifted from posting content three times a week to intentionally starting conversations:

  1. Finding people who openly shared their struggles on LinkedIn
  2. Offering a free hour of coaching (not to sell, but to genuinely help)
  3. Building trust through real results, not promises

This approach felt uncomfortable at first—because effective growth strategies usually do. As Jordan notes, "The things that don't scare you probably don't fit at the beginning stage of business."

The Attraction-Based Approach

Instead of "pitch slapping" (sending cold outreach messages with offers), Jordan adopted a mantra: "Attraction over chasing."

He started:

  • Engaging with people who expressed specific struggles
  • Providing genuine value before any sales conversation
  • Shifting more toward in-person networking and meetings

This conversation hit home for me because I've experienced many of these same challenges. The industry often glorifies overnight success while hiding the messy middle—those months of doubt, frustration, and perseverance that every successful coach experiences.
